Job Title:  Account Manager

Reports to:  Inside Sales Manager

Job Summary: Manage accounts and customer service activities to gain customer order and account acquisition.

Essential Functions of the Job (listed in order of importance):

  • Develop and maintain a strategic partnership with customers and prospects in assigned territory
  • Generate repeat business, customer growth and customer retention through inbound and outbound customer contact including phone, email, etc.
  • Acquire customer order through engaged technical conversation including stakeholders as needed
  • Enter sales order timely and accurately ensuring customer is updated per established process
  • Review data relevant to account/market/channel and develop plan for customer and order acquisition
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (engineering, production, supply chain) to ensure accurate information to customers and accurate transfer of information internally
  • Manage and communicate pricing and planning expectations for customers
  • Overcome technical and business objectives to order and account acquisition
  • Enter and maintain updated and accurate customer data in CRM and ERP systems
  • Execute lead generation and call program plans

Marginal Job Functions

  • Compile information and prepare specific reports and business plans
  • Support the development of outbound/cold call strategies for CRM and POS leads

Skills Required to Perform the Duties of the Job:

  • Ability to organize data and schedule to achieve metrics
  • Ability to apply negotiation skills to overcome customer objections and make customer contact
  • Ability to think strategically and present alternative solutions to gain customer/order acquisition
  • Ability to analyze and translate data and technical information
  • Strong communication skills and professional delivery including phone etiquette and customer service ability
  • Strong account management skills including demonstrated customer/order acquisition skills
  • Intermediate ability to use Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, Outlook, CRM and ERP systems (CRM Dynamics and Nav ERP)
  • Ability to work independently and pro-actively to avoid and resolve issues

 Educational Requirements Needed to Perform the Duties of the Job:

  • Bachelor's degree plus 2 years customer service and/or inside sales experience; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
  • Previous technical product experience a plus
  • Previous inbound/outbound cold-call experience preferred

 Weight Lifting (OR OTHER PHYSICAL) Requirements to Perform the Duties of the job:

  • Continuously and regularly required to sit, use hands/fingers to reach feel
  • Continuously required to talk and hear
  • Routinely required to use close/distance/color/peripheral vision
  • Routinely exposed to moderate office noise level and risk of electrical shock through the use of standard office equipment
